I. Introduction

As a fan of all things DC, I was pretty excited when I heard about the new Harley Quinn animated series. I mean, who wouldn’t be? Harley is one of the most iconic and beloved characters in the DC Universe, and the idea of getting to see her in a new and fully-realized animated series was just too good to pass up.

The show is hilarious, action-packed, and full of all the zany, over-the-top antics that we’ve come to expect from Harley. But what really sets this series apart is the way it tackles some pretty heavy themes, namely the importance of escaping toxic relationships and the dangers of narcissism.

II. The Story of Harley Quinn

If you’re not familiar with the story, Harley has just broken up with the Joker and is trying to make a name for herself as a solo villain. Along the way, she teams up with Poison Ivy and a host of other wacky characters, including a talking plant and a literal man-eating shark (or so I have heard). Together, they take on all sorts of crazy missions and schemes, facing off…
