Medium Is a Big “Meh”

I’m bored, that’s why I’m writing this today

I believe many of us came here expecting to make some money in exchange for writing. Perhaps we thought this was the YouTube of writers. I used to believe that.

The truth is that this platform is quite disappointing. Most of us won’t ever achieve anything here.

I mean, there are tons of authors, competition is brutal and most readers have already decided their favorite authors, so there are very little chances, and even if we had a chance, who would like that life?

You either struggle to be read and lose your own voice in the path, or become a boring self-help writer.

The other possible path is writing about a topic you like and forget about picking out what’s on your mind, since no one will care unless you are the minority currently on trend.

Perhaps the Idea of Expressing Yourself Was Delusive

As sad as this might look, the human being is far from being the enlightened, sympathetic being this age tries to sell. We are dark and gregarious, and so, we don’t really want to hear about anyone else’s misery.

Or perhaps this is at Disney’s fault, who knows, but most of the time, the idea of “expressing yourself” comes down to a bunch of vanilla statements, it’s like a bad country song. It’s just boring. It’s boring because it’s narrowed down to a railway that won’t let you say anything outside…
