Early Life and Career:
Born in 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Michael J. Fox was the youngest of five children in a working-class family. His father was a security guard and his mother was a payroll clerk. From a young age, Fox was drawn to acting and began performing in school plays and local theater productions.
Fox attended Burnaby Central Secondary School, where he excelled in athletics and acting. He was a standout on the school’s basketball and soccer teams, and was also involved in the drama club. After high school, Fox decided to pursue acting full-time and moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
